Assistance is offered regardless of income, religious affiliation or non-affiliation, and is free of charge. Services are available to residents of Cabell and Northern Wayne Counties, West Virginia, and Lawrence County, Ohio.
Volunteer caregivers are friends and neighbors of all ages who are trained to provide non-medical services to the elderly and adults with disabilities. Volunteers determine the amount of time they wish to donate and the types of services they would like to provide.
Volunteer caregivers provide:
- yard work
- minor home repairs
- light housekeeping/laundry assistance
- reassurance telephone calls
Faith in Action accepts referrals from the individual needing assistance, family members, friends, neighbors, congregations, hospitals, organizations, social service agencies, and nursing homes. To make a referral contact the office at 304/697-1274 or 877/367-1271 (toll-free).
